Dear Patient,

We are writing to inform you of an update regarding your healthcare provider at Woodbridge Medical Centre Family Health Team (WMC FHT).

Starting October 2, 2024, Dr.  Shiyu (Sherry) Cui will be taking over your care as a locum physician, filling in for Dr. Leung. Dr. Cui will be managing your medical care until January 31, 2024.

Dr. Cui (pronounced “Sway”) grew up in North York, Ontario, and completed a Bachelor’s degree in medical sciences at Western University, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree at McMaster University. She returned to Toronto to complete her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto, as part of the Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team. Her goal is to provide comprehensive family medicine to members of the community, with an interest in women’s health. She looks forward to meeting the community and working with the WMC FHT during this locum.

Please note that Dr. Esteves, who is currently providing locum coverage, will be concluding her service on September 26, 2024. After this date, Dr. Esteves will no longer have access to your medical records.

Rest assured, Dr. Cui will have full access to your medical history and records to ensure continuity of care and follow up on any test results. We are confident that Dr. Cui will provide you with the same level of care and attention that you have come to expect. The clinic is continuing to work on finding a replacement for Dr. Leung and will provide you with more information once available.    You will continue to have access to Woodbridge Medical Clinic Family Health Team without any interruption until a new physician can be found.

Dr. Cui will be taking over Dr. Leung’s schedule, and all current appointments will continue as planned.  There will be no change to any scheduled appointments you currently have booked. All appointments will be seen by Dr. Cui and no action is required by you.  If you would like to cancel or reschedule any appointment you have booked please visit the Patient Portal https://portal.healthmyself.net/wmcfht#/ or contact the office at 905-893-8085.

Dr. Cui will be available:

Monday               9:00am – 4:00pm

Wednesday          9:00am – 4:00pm

Thursday            4:00pm – 9:00pm

Friday               9:00am – 5:00pm

As patients you are able to book an appointment with her online through the Portal or call the office to schedule your appointment.  As enrolled patients, you will continue to have access to our family physicians through the 7 days a week walk-in and after hours clinic.  Additionally, many of you are already familiar with our nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacist, dietician and mental health team.  The option to see these professionals remains open to you.
